David is an approachable and hardworking barrister with extensive experience in all areas of criminal law including murder, rape, other serious violence, drug importation and firearms. A defence practitioner for the majority of his seventeen year career but increasingly instructed to prosecute significant and complex fraud (level 3).

Murder/Manslaughter

CN – notorious murder of missing traveller Fred Moss.

DD – alleged stoning of father playing cricket with son on tennis court inducing heart attack by group of ten to thirteen year olds in Erith. Acquitted on appeal.

Rape/Historic sexual abuse

VJ – One month campaign of rape, kidnap, false imprisonment and sexual/physical assaults against partner involving cyber stalking. Acquitted of all sexual allegations.

FK – historic allegation of sustained campaign of sexual abuse against two of FK’s daughters. Acquitted on all counts.

AG – group rape allegation against thirteen year old complainant captured on mobile phone. No evidence offered on rape following successful exclusion of first two ABE videos at preparatory hearing.

Serious/organised violence/robberies

TP – armed four handed blackmail/s.18 wounding/kidnap arising from outstanding work debt. Acquitted of firearms charge.

BK – seven handed armed conspiracy to kidnap/violent disorder caught on CCTV. Acquitted of all matters after one month trial.

FB – Reported nationally as “Gone in 60 seconds” case involving carjacking campaign with girlfriend involving 22 cars worth £250,000 in six month period.

MB – 14 year old charged with three others with s.18 wounding/kidnap involving planned knife attack on 14 year old. Acquittal directed at half time due to insufficient evidence of identification.

Drug dealing/importation

JB – Operation Zambia. Six months conspiracy involving importation of significant quantities of cocaine and subsequent wholesale distribution throughout Essex. One of two acquitted after three months trial.

TW – Five handed conspiracy to import 80 kilos of cannabis.
