Profile: Helen specialises in Children Act matters. She represents parents, grandparents, children, guardians, local authorities and interveners in private residence/contact disputes and also in public law care cases/adoptions. She also represents parties in relation to injunctive relief under the Family Law Act.
Whilst Helen’s practice is predominantly in the area of family law, she has also represented defendants accused of a wide range of criminal offences including armed robbery, GBH and other assaults including domestic violence, child cruelty, firearms matters, drug related offences and sexual assaults.
Helen attends court hearings on a daily basis as has consequently developed strong oral advocacy skills. She recognises the importance of detailed case preparation and takes a collaborative approach with her professional clients. Helen realises that parties often find court proceedings extremely stressful and she endeavours to ensure that her individual clients are fully advised on law and procedure so they are in the position to make informed decisions throughout proceedings.
Helen is a member of the Family Law Bar Association.
