Judicial Appointment

Chambers is pleased to announce that Daniel Benjamin has been appointed as a Recorder. He has been deployed to sit in the Family Court on the South Eastern Circuit. Daniel will continue to practise from chambers and to accept instructions in his specialist areas. Daniel Benjamin was called to the bar in 2006 and is an established practitioner, primarily in criminal law. Daniel is also authorised to undertake Public Access work. #News

Chambers welcomes a new third six pupil

Stacey Holland has joined Chambers as a third six having successfully completed pupillage in London. Prior to commencing pupillage, Stacey worked at the Crown Prosecution Service for 17 years; 5 years as a Paralegal and the past 12 years as an Associate Prosecutor. Stacey appeared daily in court, presenting a wide range of cases, gaining extensive experience of the court and various legal processes. #News

Celebrating 100 years of women in law

Evaluation of hair strand testing in care proceedings

Mark Love represented the Applicant Local Authority in a re-hearing of care proceedings in relation to a child, whose mother accepted that she had a long, chronic history of substance misuse. VAT Fraud Convictions at the Old Bailey

After a 3-week trial at the Old Bailey, which Daniel Benjamin prosecuted, the defendant was convicted on all 6 counts. He was sentenced to 2½ years imprisonment and disqualified from being a company director for 6 years. The defendant, an accountant who set up companies with similar names to a client’s company, hijacked that client’s company and deceived people who speak little English into setting up companies and bank accounts which he controlled.
