Erika has a diverse common law practice and accepts instructions in line with Chamber’s main practice areas.
Erika acts in a range of hearings and applications in the County Court and High Court. She is frequently instructed in small claims and fast track trials and conducts hearings in claims on all three tracks. Erika accepts instructions in cases across the civil spectrum including general civil litigation, contractual disputes, nuisance, trespass, housing and bankruptcy.
In addition, Erika has a busy personal injury practice. She advises and drafts pleadings in all manners of personal injury matters, most commonly arising from accidents at work, road traffic accidents and trip/slip cases. She is experienced at providing advices on liability and quantum in relation to child and adult claimants and regularly attends at disposal hearings and infant approval hearings.
Erika has developed a family practice encompassing all areas of family law and has extensive experience in proceedings under the Children Act; appearing in both private law disputes and care proceedings. Her experience in private law Children Act proceedings includes fact finding hearings, contested residence and contact hearings, and enforcement proceedings. In public law proceedings, Erika regularly acts on behalf of parents, grandparents, local authorities and Guardians.
Erika’s criminal practice is predominately in defence where she regularly appears in the Magistrates, Youth and Crown Courts. She has successfully represented client’s on a wide range of offences in single and multi-handed cases, including Burglary, Robbery, ABH, Fraud and Sexual Offences. She frequently appears for high profile client’s in road traffic offences and has developed busy practice in this area.
