No case to answer in victimless prosecution

Stacey-lee Holland, instructed by Bassets solicitors, successfully argued that there was no case to answer in respect of a man charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.


This was a victimless prosecution in which the prosecution adduced evidence of first compliant in order to assert that SR had caused injury to his ex-partner. Stacey made a submission of no cause to answer, submitting that there was no evidence of causation. The case was dismissed following a finding of no case to answer.
