A jury has acquitted Olivia’s client of s.18 Causing Grievous Bodily Harm with Intent and the alternative count of s.20 Inflicting Grievous Bodily Harm following a two-week trial at Wood Green Crown Court. During the trial the Prosecution relied on forensic DNA linking the defendant to a bloodied glass bottle, medical evidence of the complainant’s broken jaw and five fractured teeth, civilian witness testimony and the defendant’s bad character. The defendant maintained he had committed no assault at all. After eight hours and forty-five minutes of deliberation the jury acquitted the defendant.
