Biography
“Called to the Bar in 1993, Christopher began his career under the guidance of some of the most prominent Criminal Barristers at Furnival Chambers. With a wealth of experience on both sides of the legal profession, Christopher holds direct access rights and is authorised to conduct litigation.
Christopher previously worked with a renowned Hartley Street criminal firm, gaining significant experience in high-profile criminal cases. This included involvement in numerous cases that attracted media attention, notably a murder trial at Winchester Crown Court following a 1992 shooting in Hartley Wintney, and the multi-handed Heathrow Robberies between 2002 and 2004. This strong foundation in criminal law has shaped Christopher into a highly analytical and strategic practitioner, adept at navigating the most complex cases to secure the best outcomes for clients.
In addition to criminal law, Christopher specialises in all aspects of family law. His extensive experience spans divorce matters, including matrimonial finances and private children’s arrangements. Alongside this, he has conducted work in domestic violence, occupation orders, child name change deeds, parental responsibility, child arrangements orders (including international arrangements), and cohabitee rights, and he has several years of experience in dealing with Local Authorities (CAFCASS). He also has invaluable experience in dealing with a number of complex and high-value divorce cases involving trusts, corporate interests, and high-value assets, as well as complex children’s cases. In private law proceedings, he regularly acts on behalf of parents, grandparents, and guardians.
With a litigation certificate and well-founded background in criminal law, Christopher will navigate the client through the most complex, investigative procedure whether through police investigation, social services enquiry, local authority investigations or HM Customs. This experienced approach has proved crucial to clients in guarding their interests and balancing the statutory requirements of investigative authorities.
Christopher also has experienced knowledge in residential landlord and tenant litigation. He has throughout his career acted on multiple enquiries from local authorities in relation to Housing Act violations. He principally acts for Landlords in defending local authority prosecutions. Christopher also regularly deals with rent arrears and complex evictions including HMO violations.
With a client-focused and cost-effective approach, Christopher is committed to resolving matters efficiently whilst always prioritising the best interests of the client and the wider family. As a Barrister, allowing advocacy in the High Court, with the right to conduct Litigation, clients benefit from a streamlined service, dealing with just one legal professional from the outset of litigation through to representation at hearings.
No matter how complex the matter, with Christopher’s wide wealth of experience and knowledge, clients can rest assured that Christopher will aim to find the beneficial solution to the problem at hand.”
