Biography
David is a highly regarded criminal practitioner for both defence and prosecution.
He has extensive experience in all areas of criminal law including homicide, serious sexual offences, multi-handed drugs conspiracies and large scale fraud.
He is a highly effective advocate both in court and on paper known for his hard work, tactical acumen and his excellent way with clients.

Homicide/Serious violence
- (2026) – N –Murder. N called police and confessed to assisting her mother’s suicide by providing her pills and placing her hands around her neck when she began to choke. Second PM confirmed strangulation not a contributory cause of death. Acquitted after representations. Defence led by KC.
- (2026) – B - 3 handed stabbing in Aylesbury town centre. Arrested for attempted murder. Alleged principal offender/stabber. Further allegedly confessed to probation officer. Half time submission successful. Defence.
- (2026) – T - Attempted murder. 8 stab wounds to the chest one within 9mm of the complainant’s heart. Acquitted of attempted murder and convicted of s. 18 wounding with intent after trial. Junior counsel alone. Defence.
- (2025) – 8 handed trial following a shooting in Tottenham in 2023 – said by D1/gunman to have carried firearm to party – first jury discharged after D1 refused to be cross-examined (2024); acquitted in second re-trial (2025). Defence led by KC.
- (2025) – C, F and N - Three handed aggravated burglary involving pistol whipping of victim over alleged drug debt. All 3 convicted. Prosecution.
- (2024) – P charged with attempted murder/possession of firearm with intent to endanger life. Said to be getaway driver for gang related shooting in Selhurst. Acquitted on re-trial. Junior counsel alone. Defence.
- (2023) – M+M – causing a 9 week child to suffer serious injury. Both convicted. Prosecution.
- (2021) CB – successful application to dismiss in multi-handed allegation of conspiracy to murder 16 year old. Junior counsel alone. Defence.
- (2021) P – prosecuted by QC – attempted murder of police officer found unfit to stand trial – trial of issue. Junior counsel alone. Defence.
Serious sexual offences
- (2026) – W – Aged 19. Meeting a child following grooming/inciting sexual activity and sexual communication with a 13 year old child over course of 18 months. Following basis of plea and mitigation suspended sentence imposed. AG reference subsequently withdrawn. Defence.
- (2025) – H – rape of former partner, controlling/coercive behaviour, non-fatal strangulation and stalking involving fear of violence. Defence. Acquitted after trial.
- (2025) C – rape of former partner 10 years ago following renewal of relationship. Defence. Acquitted after trial.
- (2025) – B – prosecuted by KC – stranger rape having acted to assist complainant on 40th birthday night out having lost friends – bad character allegation comprising two historic non-proven verdicts in Scotland excluded. Junior counsel alone. Defence. Acquitted after trial.
- (2025) – S – rape (x3) of 18 year old by 24 year old in ladies’ toilets in nightclub at end of night. Defence. Acquitted after trial.
- (2022) S – former police officer charged with historic allegations of serious sexual offences against three step/foster daughters. Defence.
- (2022) M – charged with historic serious sexual offences against four cousins. Defence.
- (2021) A – stranger rape and robbery of mentally disordered 59 year old in Kings Cross in early hours of morning. Defence.
- (2021) G – private prosecution brought for historic serious sexual offences against two step children discontinued following representations. Defence.
David has particular expertise both prosecuting and defending in indecent imagery cases both privately paying and publicly funded.
Drugs
- (2026) – T – 6 handed conspiracy to import cannabis. Basis of plea submitted to lesser offence. Suspended sentence imposed. Defence.
- (2025) – W – 6 handed conspiracy to import/supply cannabis and lean on a commercial scale on a national level over 2 years. W said to be right hand man. Defence.
- (2024) - “Marlow/Alpha” line – 4 handed county lines Class A drugs case in Reading/Oxford involving false imprisonment/assault with firearm of cuckooed victim. Prosecution.
- (2024) – OA/MA Two handed county lines prosecution involving use of 14 year old boy from Oxford. Prosecution.
- (2024) – “Tony Line” – 4 handed county lines conspiracy to supply Class A drugs in/from Romford to/from Eastbourne. Prosecution.
- (2023) – M – Operation Smith. 15 handed conspiracy to supply class A drugs in/around Worthing/Sussex. Leader of OCG based in prison. Defence.
- (2023) L – Operation Shark. 15 handed conspiracy to supply class A drugs in/out of Northampton. Defence.
- (2020) S – multi-handed conspiracy to supply class A drugs representing girlfriend of gang leader acquitted after four week trial. Defence.

Fraud
- (2024) – A – 15 handed mortgage fraud conspiracy totalling £6 million. A said to be accountant to fraudulent mortgage broker. Defence.
- (2023) – D – fraud/theft from former 80 year old boss of house/savings. Defence.
- (2021) S – four year conspiracy to defraud insurance company leading to £1 million confiscation application. Defence.
- (2020) – M – multi-handed conspiracy to defraud over thirty solar panel energy customers against most company members acquitted after seven week trial at half time. Defence.
- (2019) R – inside man in £500,000+ conspiracy to defraud acquitted after five week trial. Leading junior. Defence.
