Simon Tolkien

Simon practiced criminal law in chambers until 2002 when he became a novelist. His first novels were courtroom dramas drawing on his legal experience but he then switched to historical fiction. He published No Man’s Land, a coming-of-age story set during the First World War, in 2016 and he recently finished a new book about the Spanish Civil War after six years hard labour. It will be coming out in 2024. He has lived in Santa Barbara, California since 2008.
